Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) During COVID-19

Thank you to everyone who has supported the GGRF COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. As we continue to adapt to the ongoing health crisis, our staff are working hard to ensure that the GGRF community is provided with the tools they need to stay safe and healthy.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, 75% of people lack access to a hand-washing facility.

In Soddo, our program accountant Yeshi hands out face masks for the girls during our social distancing lunch. Girls and families are provided with GGRF hygiene kits which include soap, hand sanitizer, face masks, and sanitary pads. Program participants are also provided access to water fountains, showers, and hygiene facilities at school if they are not readily available at home.
