2019 // A Year of Firsts. GGRF’s First Benefit Dinner, A Seat at the Table
In October, GGRF partnered with Coffee Manufactory, The Manufactory LA, Tartine Bakery, Tartine Bianco, and Falcon Coffees to organize a benefit dinner in support of launching the first GGRF program in Ethiopia’s acclaimed coffee growing community, Agaro.
For this intimate dinner, Tartine Bakery & chef Caitlin Hata custom curated a special menu which took a Tartine approach to Ethiopian inspired cuisine. Signature cocktails were curated by the Tartine team and sponsored by Future Gin, a local and female owned liquor company. Thank you to Brouwerij West Potek Winery and Langdon Shiverick for providing a beautiful wine service. We were proud to partner with LA’s Little Ethiopia Cultural & Resource Center to provide a traditional coffee ceremony during our post-dinner celebration.
Thank you to our hosts, Chris Jordan founder of Coffee Manufactory and COO of Tartine Bakery, Chad Robertson pastry chef and founder of acclaimed Tartine Bakery, Chris Bianco award winning chef and owner of Tartine Bianco, and Kayla Nolan Executive Director of GGRF. Thanks to the support of Jaybird Sport, every dollar of the ticket price for this event went towards launching GGRF’s Athletic Scholarship Program in Agaro, Ethiopia!
Thank you to our planning committee Steph Alcala, Rosie Rodriguez, Caryl Chinn, Mockingbird Analytics, Nastatia Young, and GGRF’s Board of Directors for helping to bring this event to life.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event. Look forward to what we can do together in 2020! Photos by Tori Pintar
